My experience of the whole team and in particular one lady Doctor has been absolutely out standing. Thank you for your professionalism and your care, it is very much appreciated.

Several times I have experienced horrendous service from reception. Rude and curt. It seems to mainly be the one person, there is a couple that are really lovely but me and family members seem to get the rude one. I originally went in to complain and realised they were in a high up position so I didn’t bother. Today my daughter called to get an appointment. She is very anxious and took her a lot to call. She did so well. She called only for the receptionist to be rude and have a conversation with other people whilst on the phone. My daughter spent the time explaining why she wanted the appointment as she was asked, only for the receptionist’s to carry on the conversation with their colleagues. My daughter had to ask several times for an appointment, was told she could have a student appointment, she said she didn’t understand what that is, then was treated like she was stupid because she didn’t know what it was. She then asked for a doctor appointment and the receptionist then asked her again what the appointment was for! Why are people being treated like this!

Monica in the dispensary is a discredit to the medical centre itself. What a rude individual! I wouldn't go here for your prescription!!! Absolutely 0 manners!! Disgusting!

Whilst NHS services are undoubtedly very stretched at the moment, my family and I have been very happy with the care we've received from the empingham team. We've had GPs in London, Cambridge and Edinburgh and we're happiest here. Noticing other reviews, I've always found the reception staff to be very polite, accommodating and understanding when faced with shortages of appointments. There is always parking, it's a beautiful village, the pharmacy staff are really nice. I am particularly gratefully to Carina and Dr Eaves for recent care they have given our family...There is a nationwide shortage of GPs and Empingham have accommodated an enormous influx of patients spilling over from Stamford. Whilst nothing is perfect, we feel very lucky to be patients here and are very grateful for all the team's exceptionally hard work

Always helpful, always professional and given how overstretched the NHS is, the team continue to provide a very good service. It isn't a perfect system but it works. Dr Thorpe has to be commended for his bedside manner. Thank you to the whole team at Empingham Medical Centre

Notwithstanding the negative reviews concerning communication, I can only say that my experience, in the 3 years of being a patient here, have been largely positive. Yes, once or twice, people have been a little curt and business like but everyone can have an off day. As to my experience with seeing a doctor (increasingly rare post Covid), again leaning towards the positive. Compare and contrast the Ukrainian GP Dr Ostapenko, a young lady with a great chair side manner and a refreshing outlook to another GP I talked to during Covid who simply asked me to photograph a skin rash, which was hardly visible, and sent it on to him for ‘evaluation and diagnosis’. What a joke! Unfortunately, this practice is part of a bigger, broken NHS which needs grass roots reform, but which won’t get it - as we all know. So, I’d say they are probably doing the best they can with the resources they have. My advice to them, in the short term, would be to sort out the diabolical parking situation and to make sure they have a robust plan in place for when they start receiving thousands of extra patients as a result of the crazy imminent housing planning developments across the west end of Stamford and beyond. It will certainly be interesting to watch developments on that front. My last request would be - is there really NO alternative to the current lottery of appointment making? Again, totally scandalous but not particular to Empingham.

No point in contacting the practice manager, I did so by telephone in August 2022 and was promised an update on a number of issues I raised. April 2023 still waiting. Patient Services would be better named Patient Obstructors. Early March I rang to try to speak to a doctor as I needed a referral to go to ENT with an ear issue I was told quite bluntly to go to Specsavers who told me that the ear was clear of wax and to speak to my GP. I tried again and was told to cal 111 They too told me to speak to my GP. I gave up and moved to another practice . Incompetence at operational, administrative and communications levels.

Having spoken to the surgery receptionist, they are patronising, intrusive and rude. There is absolutely no glimmer of human kindness in their voice, they simply don’t care what happens to you - lock down seems to have transformed this service and not for the better. Perhaps their prescription should be a good dose of customer service training.

Tried to sign up as a new patient. Was called a few days later by a very agitated person who angrily told me I was missing a few details on the registration form - which is fine - my fault and I apologised! But I was spoken to in an incredibly rude and patronising tone. It’s just a form, it’s not an excuse to be aggressive towards people. Awful service towards a person is seeking medical help. I decided to cancel my registration based on that experience.
